Undergraduate Student Registration
During pre-registration, all Creative Writing undergraduate courses are open bid through my.uchicago.edu. Once the add/drop/consent period opens, please refer to the specific instructions listed for each course on my.uchicago.edu.
Although declared Creative Writing Majors and Minors receive preference when registering, Creative Writing courses are open to all undergraduate students.
Graduate Student Registration
Two seats are reserved for graduate students in Creative Writing Workshop I, Workshop II, and Studio courses. Graduate students must request consent to enroll or be added to a waitlist by reaching out to instructors directly. For the 2026 Autumn Quarter, MAPH students can begin reaching out on instructors for consent on Monday, September 14. All other graduate students can begin reaching out on Monday, September 21. Up to date course listings, times, and open seats available can by found on my.uchicago.edu.
Although declared MAPH Creative Writing Specialists receive preference when requesting instructor consent to enroll, Creative Writing courses are open to all graduate students.
