Jonathan Gleason is a writer, university instructor, and medical interpreter in Chicago. His first book "Field Guide to Falling Ill" will be published in fall 2025 as the inaugural winner of the Yale Nonfiction Book Prize. He is a recipient of a 2023 grant from the Elizabeth George Foundation and a recent MFA graduate from the University of Iowa. His work has appeared in Best American Essays (2024), The Sun Magazine, Literary Hub, New England Review, The Kenyon Review, Colorado Review, and others. He is the 2024 winner of the Indiana Review fiction competition.
